October 30, 2012 update

After spending 8 weeks on crutches and slowly starting to build up my running stamina, I hope I am ready to finish my postponed run across Long Island in memory of my co-worker Roberta Rivi and to do fundraising to fight the breast cancer. My run will take place the first weekend of December 2012 (Start 8am December 1, and finish sometime on December 2nd). Please stay tuned.

Updated: May 4, 2012

As per my doctor’s orders, I still need to use crutches, but I can slowly start eliminating them over the next two weeks. This means that by the 4th week of May, I should be crutches-free! After one week of walking, I can hopefully (slowly) beginning running, which brings me to beginning of June. However, I cannot jump to 50 miles/week. I will be like a beginner. Oh well, I have to be patient.

Alicja in Greenland

Well, it seems that I changed my mind. I spent some time in the cabin earlier today, but because of the high winds I could not start a fire, so I decided to keep going. I made it to Sisimiut! Only 2 days to do the entire Arctic Trail...BY MYSELF!!

So, now I have a little time to rest, take a shower, and relax.
