Greenland Challenge

This was written about Alicja by whoever was keeping the site while she was away. It has been moved into the first person — grammar only, nothing else changed.

I finished my 3rd and final leg of the Arctic Challenge on Friday. I ran another marathon in Kangerlussuaq in 4:43:22. (Attached is a picture of me after I finished the marathon.)

The weather in Kangerlussuaq is very nice...sunny and about 70 degrees F. It is the desert of Greenland and sunny more than 300 days/year. There is not much rain because it is by thy Ice Cap.

I spent Saturday hiking, in search of the musk ox, an animal I did not yet see while doing this Challenge.

I wish everyone a very Happy 4th of July! As long as all of my travel plans work out as they should, I should arrive in time to see the fireworks tomorrow.

Many thanks to all of my supporters...I couldn't have done it without all of you!

Alicja on a rock by the water in a red hat and green jacket, both thumbs up, icebergs floating behind her.
Two white sled dogs sitting on bare rock beside a settlement, low buildings behind them.
A blackened pot on a small fire between stones on open tundra, a set of antlers lying beside it.
Alicja standing beneath a signpost with arms pointing to the North Pole, Moscow, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles with their distances.
