Update 20 october 2015
Spelling corrected. Her original is below.
Update from the Arctic Trail: I finished the Arctic Circle Trail and was able to do it in both directions. On the first half of the trek, going out from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut, I had the company of two British running companions. The trail conditions were very demanding (melting snow, crossing many, many rivers, mountains, and streams). The Brits decided to end their excursion after we arrived in Sisimiut, so I went back from Sisimiut to Kangerlussuaq alone. I am so happy I decided to do the trip back; the conditions were so different. In just a few days spring had sprung and flowers had started to bloom; in fact, it took me half a day’s less time to cover the same distance back to Kangerlussuaq! This was a great experience and adventure. I will treasure every moment, every step of the trail. I am so thankful that I succeeded in finishing my goal. I ended up with many blisters; more blisters than I’ve gotten in all of my running history combined, because my feet were always wet. Now the blisters are healed and my feet are ready for the next adventure… I am so grateful to all my supporters and donors that have contributed to the great international organization Doctors without Borders. The members of this organization are reaching out to places that not many are willing to go in order to treat those who otherwise would be forgotten. I did my little part, you did a little part, and hopefully, all together, we made a little difference for others. Attached is a link with photos from the trail.
